his issue of the Newsletter is all about the New York City Marathon. Even Brian Mayor's "A Word from the Treasurer" is about running a marathon (he wants to — but never has). And lo and behold, when Scott Cohen's 3rd part of "The Making of a Triathlete" came in, it looked suspiciously like a marathon piece. To be fair to Scott, it is an excellent and thoughtful piece for any athlete who aspires to success. And I think that includes us all.

And this Newsletter has been a bit of a marathon for me this year. We started out fast, then got into a steady pace, and now the finish line is in sight. But we're not there yet. The Newsletter Awards Dinner page on the computer screen in that picture of me sitting at my desk, sure feels like it was a long time ago. And in a couple of months we'll be getting ready for the next Awards Dinner.

Very soon, as the marathon fades from our attention, the club will get into the yearly Flyers election cycle for the club officers. I hope you'll all get involved. We never cease to need everyone's time and talents. And to anyone who may aspire to the office of Secretary, I pledge to make myself available to help in any way I can, technical or otherwise.

And so, till next time,
Richard
