What's better than a run with a great group of New York Flyers? How about a run with the Flyers and their dogs? On Saturday May 9, the club held the 2nd Flyers Dog Run and a lot of fun and wagging tails was had by all.
My idea for the dog run came about after hearing so many Flyers talk about their dogs. Wouldn’t it be great to have a social informal run where the Flyers could meet with their dogs?
To be honest, there really isn’t a lot of running happening at the dog run. But it’s a wonderful activity for the dogs and all involved. As the Flyers are great people, all participants have gentle dogs that play well together.
The best part of the dog run is spending time with the dogs and seeing them have such a happy time running and socializing together. It’s also interesting to finally get to meet all the dogs that we hear so much about on Facebook and social media. To see how bigChris and Beth Brennan’s Gus really is. Along with Ami Thakkar’s very cute Monte, who is the smaller dog of the group but very big on personality.
After meeting Laura Smith-Sackler’s beautiful Yasmine you will understand why she was rescued from Central America. Roseline Buchwald has the most gorgeous white English Cream Golden Retriever. Yumi Morishige and Jennifer Coyne have lovely golden-doodles, Coco and Bailey that they also run with. Jeffrey Tente’s Olive is a social media star and when you meet her it’s easy to understand why. Lisa Konorty’s Lexi is so affectionate and gentle.
We can’t wait to see all the dogs together again next time at the summer dog run!
