New York Road Runners (NYRR) calculates Team Awards annually. These are done only for races that are ‘Team Points’ races. All participants are eligible if they designate a club affiliation; we hope all Flyers register as ‘NYFlyers’ with NYRR. You can see your affiliation by checking your dashboard on the NYRR website.
NYRR has a system for calculating Team points. Teams are listed as
- Open
- A, B, and C
- By age (10 year blocks)
From the NYRR website, “Scoring teams in the open division consist of the top five team finishers for men and women and the top three team finishers for non-binary. For the 40+, 50+, 60+ and 70+ divisions, teams consist of the top three finishers. For races 25km and longer (currently only the TCS New York City Marathon), teams consist of the top three finishers for all divisions.
Points are awarded as follows (double points at the NYRR Team Championships):

Clubs accumulate points in each division based on their finishing places in these races. At the end of the year, each club's point totals in the nine best races of the series (the lowest two scores for each club will be automatically dropped) are added to determine the club's overall ranking for the year. At NYRR's annual Club Night, the previous year's top clubs are honored and receive special awards”
