Long Training Run #4July 18th – Old Croton Aqueduct[From thje events Calendar:] It is probably one of the most scenic and serene running experiences in the NYC metropolitan area. The Old Croton Aqueduct offers a lot of shaded areas and long, flat stretches of earthen trail underfoot so it is easy on the joints. In previous years we have solicited the aid of our fellow members who have cars and would be kind enough to serve as chauffeurs for the day. So if you can drive please indicate that on the sign-up page. We will start our run from the athletic field alongside the OCA. There will be 10, 11, and 12 mile options. I will be renting a car for the day so I can bring three passengers with me. I will also pack a cooler with Gatorade and water. This is a really special place to train for those who have never run the OCA before and I strongly recommend your participation. Meeting Time / Place: 7:45 AM Sunday morning at 96th and Central Park West to drive up. Running Time / Location: Hastings on Hudson, Reynolds Field, near the intersection of Broadway (Route 9) and Farragut Avenue. We will start our run from the athletic field alongside the OCA at 8:30 AM.
Route Summary: Various out and back routes on the aqueduct. Distances to be run: 10, 11 or 12 miles Event Notice and Signup: Click here
