DESCRIPTION:Come join the New York Flyers for the first of our two annual long runs! This is fantastic training for the NYC Marathon. The run parallels the NYC Marathon course for much of the way and reaches the Queensboro Bridge at the same mileage as you will during the NYC Marathon. Full details on Heylo! \n\n\n\nThe full distance of this run is 20 miles\, but it is easy to shorten it by finishing at the Manhattan end of the Queensboro Bridge (16 miles)\, the Queens end of the Queensboro Bridge (15 miles) or at any of the many nearby subway stops along the way.   \n\n\n\nMeet at the Fleet Feet Store at Columbus Circle.  We will start running at the Maine Monument in Central Park\,  then west on 72nd Street to the Hudson River Greenway. Take the Greenway south and then cross east on Warren Street through City Hall Park across the Brooklyn Bridge to the steps to exit the bridge. Run around the perimeter of the Brooklyn Navy Yard and Steiner Studios heading north along the Brooklyn waterfront until reaching the Pulaski Bridge to cross in to Queens. Continue heading north to the Queensboro Bridge. After crossing the Queensboro Bridge continue directly to the Fleet Feet store at Columbus Circle for a shorter run\, or back into Central Park to complete the full 20 miles ending at Fleet Feet in the Deutsche Bank Center (formerly Time Warner Center.) \n\n\n\nThere are three fluid stations along the route. The first fluid station will be at Hudson River Greenway and Chambers St\, around mile 7.1 The second fluid station will be around mile 11.1 at Kent Av and Clymer St. in Brooklyn. The third fluid station is around mile 15 in Queens just before the Queensboro Bridge at the intersection of 11th street and Queens Plaza South. Each fluid station will have water\, Gatorade\, and Power Gels.  There are some public water fountains and bathrooms along part of the route. \n\n\n\nPace groups: There will be at least one pacer for each group starting at 8:00 minutes/mile through 12:00 minutes/mile at 30 second intervals. We will help group runners who may want to run sub 8:00 minutes/mile\, if there is interest. \n\n\n\nMore Details on Heylo!This run will take us through three boroughs and over three bridges (the Brooklyn Bridge\, Pulaski Bridge\, and 59th Street Bridge). We will cross the 59th Street Bridge at about mile 16\, almost the same as in the TCS NYC Marathon. This fantastic run will prepare you\, both physically and mentally\, for the challenges that await you on November 3\, 2024.

DESCRIPTION:What's Winter for? Training for Spring of course!  \nJoin us for our Winter/Spring 2024 Marathon Training Program! The 16 sessions occur each Wednesday evening\, January 3rd - April 17th. The program is limited to 50 runners and typically sells out quickly. \nWhat: NY Flyers' Winter/Spring Marathon Training Program (MTP)\, led by Head Coach Amy Sitar and Coach Jim Purvis\, is designed to help members prepare for their spring goal races. \n\n16 coached practices.\n16-week training plan based on your training history and goals.\nAssigned group coach to guide/support you throughout the season.\nCoaching support via email and on V.O2.\n\nThe NY Flyers’ Winter/Spring Training Program is available to runners of all levels. Our coaching program prides itself on proper training methodology\, great customer service and making practices fun and challenging at the same time!  \nTraining Plan: All participants will receive a personalized training plan geared towards their season goal(s). The 16-week training plan will start January 3rd and ends April 17th. Participants fill out an athlete survey so an MTP coach can review their recent training/racing history\, goals\, etc. before personalizing their plan. Training plans are published to each participant’s V.O2 calendar\, which includes the ability to manage your training on the mobile app\, website and/or a PDF copy. V.O2 also syncs with GPS so you can easily manage your prescribed workouts and actual splits. Your MTP coach will help manage your training calendar\, which will also include recommendations on cross training\, strength\, mobility exercises and nutrition\, etc.  \nCoaching Support: Each participant is assigned a “group coach” to guide them through the training program. Participants receive a coaching invite so their assigned coach can manage their training calendar. Coaches leave comments\, feedback and are available by email to help motivate and make adjustments to participants’ training along the way. \nPractices: Members gather between 6:30-6:40 pm at the Maine Monument at Columbus Circle. Runners will depart from there to the park promptly at 6:40 pm. Bag check is available on the second floor of the Time Warner Center at the Fleet Feet store. \nAll athletes train with their assigned coach and group (broken down by experience and fitness level) but at individualized paces prescribed in their training plan. Practices typically finish 7:45-8:00 pm with some mobility exercises (weather permitting). \nSocials: TBD. DESCRIPTION:What: SpeedPass \n\n\n\nLooking for a challenging (but always manageable) weekly workout? Endorphins with friends? Sweaty socials? LOOK NO FURTHER. We got you. Coached workouts Tuesday nights from January through April. \n\n\n\nThe NY Flyers’ SpeedPass is a training program led by Head Coach Amy Sitar catering to runners of all levels to help improve their speed. All participants receive two Quality Sessions per week (e.g. one speed workout and a choice of an additional speed workout or long run). Weekly workouts are uploaded to the VDOT O2 app and are customized based on the individual's current fitness and training background. \n\n\n\nWhen: 16 weeks - January 3rd through April 18th\, 2023 \n\n\n\nWhere: Central Park (Columbus Circle) every Tuesday evening\, starting at 6:30 pm \n\n\n\nMembers gather at 6:30 - 6:40 pm in the lobby on the main level of the Time Warner Center. Runners will depart for the workout at 6:40 pm. If you're late\, no problem. We'll always let you know where we will be in the park. DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce the Winter/Spring 2023 Marathon Training Program! The 16 sessions occur each Wednesday evening\, January 4th - April 19th. The program is limited to 80 runners and typically sells out quickly. \nWhat: NY Flyers' Winter Training Program (WTP) led by Head Coach Brian Rosetti of V.O2 and is designed to help members prepare for their spring goal races. \n\n16 coached practices.\n16-week training plan based on your training history and goals.\nAssigned group coach to guide/support you throughout the season.\nCoaching support via email and on V.O2.\n\nThe NY Flyers’ Winter/Spring Training Program is accessible to runners of all levels. Our coaching program prides itself on proper training methodology\, great customer service and making practices fun and challenging at the same time!  \nTraining Plan: All participants will receive a personalized training plan geared towards their season goal(s). The 16-week training plan will start January 1st and end April 23rd. Participants fill out an athlete survey so an MTP coach can review their recent training/racing history\, goals\, etc. before personalizing their plan. Training plans are published to each participant’s V.O2 calendar\, which includes the ability to manage your training on the mobile app\, website and/or a PDF copy. V.O2 also syncs with GPS so you can easily manage your prescribed workouts and actual splits. Your MTP coach will help manage your training calendar\, which will also include recommendations on cross training\, strength\, mobility exercises and nutrition\, etc.  \nCoaching Support: Each participant is assigned a “group coach” to guide them through the training program. Participants receive a coaching invite so their assigned coach can manage their training calendar. Coaches leave comments\, feedback and are available by email to help motivate and make adjustments to participants’ training along the way. \nPractices: Members gather between 6:30-6:45 pm in the lobby on the main level of Time Warner Center. Runners will depart from there to the park promptly at 6:45 pm. Bag check is available on the second floor of the Time Warner Center at the Fleet Feet store. \nAll athletes train with their assigned coach and group (broken down by experience and fitness level) but at individualized paces prescribed in their training plan. Practices typically finish (around 8:00pm) with some mobility exercises (weather permitting). \nSocials: TBD.
